Community SubscriberI highly recommend Katrin Arefi at Golden Key Piano School: 1809 University Ave, Berkeley, CA 94703, (510) 665-5466. My son is also passionate about playing piano and is making music as a hobby now. Katrin thought him piano in a way that no other teacher could. There were teachers who made him quit, but Katrin helped him grow his passion for piano. She has actually studied teaching piano, in addition to piano and music, etc., and perhaps that is why she is so good.

She also teaches voice. She has been teaching piano to my son for years and has made it so fun for him that my son spends hours on piano every week on his own, now playing classics. a mother

We've been very happy with the Golden Key Piano School (www.goldenkeypianoschool.com). We think our son's teacher, Katrin Arefy is just fantastic (attuned, encouraging, structured) and the curriculum is nicely thought out, with fun pieces to play, a good balance of technique and theory, and a very kid-friendly approach.
