Trainer for Elderly Parents
Hi I'm looking for a trainer with experience working with elderly clients who could go to my parents' house in Moraga 1-2 times a week and give them each a little workout/training session. This may be in the form of light weights, fall prevention work, taking walks, dancing to music. I don't really know! Just want some support helping them to move more and build some strength.
Any leads appreciated. Thank You

Hi Juliana, I highly recommend Dario Mathias. He works mainly with seniors and can address all issues you listed. His clients are mainly in Berkeley but he lives in pleasant hill, so maybe he can do a stop in Moraga. Dario is great with seniors - he did a ton of courses focusing on this population and customizes the program to the clients' special needs. Very friendly and very knowledgeable - he also has a bachelor degree on exercise science. His phone number is (510) 990-7163 / dariommp [at] hotmail.com.
Jennifer with Location Trainers, 510-303-3328, would be perfect. I first hired her during the pandemic to work out with my teens at our home who had gotten a bit too sedentary, and when they went off to college, I kept her around to work out with me. She is not a buff, stacked, gym bro, she’s a real person who sometimes struggles with her own weight, and that’s what I love most about her. She gets me. She knows her stuff and is all about safety and making the workouts fun and interesting, so I can increase my flexibility and strength. Now that we know her well, working out with her is like chatting with a friend and it’s painless (mostly, lol). Highly recommend.
Jane Allen, Physical Therapist. Lic #9518. 925-323-0748. Jane lives in Orinda and worked with my mom (also in Lamorinda) from 2015-2018. She works specifically with the elderly and is wonderful. Not sure if she is still working, but if she is Jane is amazing. She worked one on one with my mom doing flexibility, strength training etc in my mom's private home, and then was the PT at the excellent small board & care home in Moraga after my mom moved there. Best to you and your folks.
I live in Moraga. I used to see Tommy Au for personal training (pre-pandemic). He now is at Higher Ground in Moraga, which is next to Sisi's Cafe, near the OSH. highgroundmoraga.com Higher Ground has a nice website and offers a variety of wellness/yoga/strength classes. I'm taking yoga there now on Saturdays, but my main point is perhaps you could get in touch with Tommy and see if he is open to personal training at your parents' house. He's fantastic.
My in-laws love Eric Swan. He comes to their house once a week to work on strength and mobility, probably other things too.
