Parents, please Sign in to post a review on this page.I've gone to the Lotus Method (in Oakland) and it was great: https://thelotusmethod.com. They have personal trainer and small class (capped at 6) options.
The Lotus Method is opening it’s fourth studio this March on Piedmont Ave. in the Easy Bay. I started with them when I was pregnant at the studio in SOMA near my office and plan to continue once the Piedmont studio is opening. You can bring your baby to the sessions. www.thelotusmethodsf.com
Congratulations on your birth! Hope recovery is going well. I've been working with Caitlin at The Lotus Method for two years now, pre- and post-partum. I had pretty significant physical issues post-partum, and she's been great about working with me to help strengthen my body. She's also given me great recommendations for physical therapy (Annemarie at Miracle PT http://www.miraclept.com/) Caitlin's schedule might be tough to get into, but the other trainers are great, too. TLM currently has three locations in SF and they will be opening a location in the east bay in 2017. http://www.thelotusmethodsf.com/#the-lotus-method/pre/postnatal-fitness…. It's not inexpensive but I think you get what you pay for here.
It is pricey but I have been very happy with it overall! Trainer is great and they meet you where you are at and understand your journey.
I looked into Lotus method but never went. I ended up using Mary McQueen, a personal trainer who specializes in post-partum training. She's great.
I’d strongly recommend it. I used it during my recent second pregnancy and felt much better than with my first pregnancy (significantly less pain). Recovery has also been better and I’m enjoying working with them postpartum.
I was a member during my pregnancy. That was 7 years ago, when they only had one office in downtown SF! But I will say that I really enjoyed working with them. They were super knowledgable and encouraging. Of course I can't say if my birth was easier because of it (I've only had one birth), but I will say that I felt like they were a really important part of my support team during pregnancy. Good luck!
Love the Lotus Method. I started training with them when I was pregnant with my first kid in 2019 and just kept seeing them virtually through Covid. I credit them for almost never throwing out my back with baby/toddler. Really loved the exercise and the community of the group classes as a first time mom. Great place to ask new parents if they like their stroller, commiserate over weird pregnancy symptoms or get ideas for where to find a dress to attend a wedding at 34 weeks (all questions you can also ask on BPN too haha).
