  • Can anyone share a recent experience with Leigh's House daycare/preschool in Piedmont? Thank you!

    Hi there,

Our son goes to Leigh’s House and we have found it to be great. Very supportive sweet little community of kids and parents. I do wish they would communicate more with newsletters or something like that but overall, our son loves it, has many friends there, and have been absolutely thriving under their care. They have lots of community outings, but are always very safe in taking them. Lots of outdoor time whenever possible. I would definitely recommend it.

I've sent my kids to both of these places and know they can accept infants:

Azam's daycare (right off of Trestle Glen a block from Lakeshore ave)  - proper in-home daycare with most kids leaving >3 to go to preschool. 14 kids max (I think).

Leigh's House: in-house preschool that takes all ages (babies thru pre-school)- maxes out at a similar size as Azam's. My older daughter is there now and will be heading to K in the fall. Leigh's house is in Piedmont.

Let me know if you want an intro to either.

We use Leigh’s House in Piedmont. Good luck!

My son recently ''graduated'' to preschool after a year and a half at Leigh's Daycare in Piedmont. Leigh is personable, smart, and very well educated in child development . . . she is a great source of parenting advice! I have NEVER seen her lose it with the kids, even when 4 are melting down at once! Her ''helper,'' Auntie Sue, is also wonderful with the kids. They have circle time, take the kids to the park every day, cook them a hot lunch, and teach them about how to share and take turns. Leigh even hires music and art teachers to come in for weekly lessons, while keeping her rates very reasonable. The daycare space is fun, with a reading corner, art table, play kitchen, etc.; outside there is a sand and water table, ride-on toys, and a yard. What I like best about the daycare, though, is that I personally really like Leigh as a person, and trust her as a friend and as an expert on kids. Leigh is happy to schedule visits for prospective families; you can contact her at 510-428-2518, or lreveno[at]yahoo.com. --Erika
