At Paul the Tutor's Education Center, we are committed to helping students develop core cognitive skills such as problem solving and critical reasoning. Our approach is based on Paul's Logical Learning System™, a method that uses academics as a launching pad to teach students how to read, write, and reason better. We believe that better thinking leads to better grades and better test scores, and that the skills we teach will help students succeed in academics and beyond.

Paul the Tutor and one of his tutors were fantastic for our kids. They connected well with our kids and spent time figuring out where their issues were. At first we were not sure online tutoring was not going to be effective, but it worked well and helped us avoid Bay Area traffic.

Paul grew up in Berkeley and knows the BHS system well.

Paul the Tutor was one of the most helpful tutors my son has ever seen, and we've been working with tutors since middle school (he's a senior). Paul was extremely thoughtful and patient with my son, who has dyslexia - amongst other issues - and instilled confidence and an awesome work attitude. After a few meetings with Paul, my son worked with Ben, another fantastic tutor. Ben is super smart, personable and fabulous with working with teens. We have had at least 10 different tutors over the years - some inexpensive and some not. I think the best decision we made in terms of education was working with Paul and Ben. I could go on and on. If you would like more information, please email me.
A big, BIG fan of Paul the Tutor

I have two children that worked with Paul Osborne for math tutoring. He's great with kids, and has a teaching style that makes challenging subject, including calculus, accessible to students in a way that's not taught in school. I highly recommend him to any student. RE: Inspiring math tutor for middle schooler

Paul Osborne (Paul The Tutor) is a great tutor and works with lots of students from Piedmont. His office is actually on Piedmont Ave., though he does do some house calls as well. He is a great tutor. He charges $100/hr in his office and $125 to come to your house. He also has other tutors who work for him who are less expensive ($50-60/hr in the office and a bit more in your home) and whom he has trained. You can find out more or send him an email on his website www.paulthetutor.com or give him a cal at (510) 301-5302. I hope this helps, - - a Parent and a Teacher

I am a teacher, and I have seen Paul Osborne, Paul The Tutor, do excellent work as a chemistry tutor. He helps students understand chemistry hollistically as opposed to giving them formulas to memorize. The students I have referred to him all say they understand more thanks to his help, and their grades go up accordingly. You can see more about what he does at his website, which is www.paulthetutor.com His phone number is (510) 301-5302 Good Luck Concerned Teacher

Paul Osborne, Paul the Tutor, is a wonderfully inspiring tutor who specializes in students who need more than simple academic refreshing. He can connect with the most unmotivated and obstinate students, both as a hip young guy, and by teaching students how to approach school as a means for learning to think better. In the process Paul gives students a thorough understanding of their subject matter, and can turn around the most challenging student. As a teacher, I am privy to much of the work he does and successes he has. I recommend him to many parents, and hear similar praise from them. He has a website, www.paulthetutor.com You can reach him by phone at 510.301.5302. He specifically asked me not to post his e- mail address, but you can send him an e-mail from his website's contact page at www.paulthetutor.com/contact.php Good Luck, Marta

April 2002

Paul Osborne (Paul the Tutor) is a wonderful math and science tutor and SAT instructor. He works wonders for kids who are tough to work with. We originally hired him to tutor my son in math after a few other tutors had not been able to help. The two of them got along very well. Paul helped my son turn himself around, and after a year and a half my son was excelling at math and we were able to quit the tutoring. We later hired Paul for SAT prep and occasional science (physics, chemistry and biology) work for my son, and to work with my younger daughter who can be very stubborn and moody. I was again very impressed with Paul's results. Paul is an expensive tutor, $90 or $100 an hour, but well worth it. You can reach him at (510) 301-5302, or at paulthetutor AT paulthetutor.com. He also has a web site at www.PaultheTutor.com. Dan

Nov 1999

This past spring we used a tutor named Paul Osborne to help our son with Chemistry. Our son (a sophomore) liked him quite a bit, and said he explained things well. I know he tutors math in addition to science, and he seems to work with quite an age range--elementary through high school. We pulled him in late in the year, when chemistry suddenly got MUCH harder; in retrospect, I wished I had heeded the trouble-signs earlier, and gotten him some help in February, instead of April! He came to our home. You can reach him at (510) 301-5302.
