RE:

I already responded to another post this week asking about musical instruments for a 4 year old, but Miss Edith Szendrey’s class is great for babies too.

My infant loves it! She smiles and is happy the whole time, watching and listening to the big kids while she grasps maracas and bells :) multiple times she was fussy in the morning and in the car on the way to Miss Edith’s, but happy as a clam at class. I really think she is getting something out of the experience, and it’s just a nice vibe in the room. I’m glad I found these classes.

We have been having a great experience with Miss Edith Szendrey. 510-672-2487

She hosts fun classes for young kids (babies up to 6 years old), where the kids play various instruments she has out, sing, listen to music, and have fun. Miss Edith has being doing this a long time, so she knows how to work with young kids with short attention spans. If necessary she redirects with fun things like scarf dancing and then integrates music again. My toddler and baby love going!

RE: violin lessons

Edith Szendrey and Eugene Chukhlov, 510-758-7870. They are excellent musicians, are interested in teaching, and recently moved to El Sobrante. From South Berkeley it is about a 15 to 20 minute drive to their house. Ruth

Someone asked about a violin teacher -- Our 8 year old takes violin lessons with Edith Szendrey, 215-7810. She's been taking lessons for about a year, and it seems to be going well. I know Edith has students younger than our daughter, too. Edith lives in Mira Vista, a neighborhood in Richmond on the El Cerrito border. Christina
