Yu Ming for high energy & creative kid
My rising K was offered a spot in Yu Ming and I am wondering if there are recent insights to how high energy kids (able to focus, but needs a lot of outside play time) have managed in this school? What is the school support like for kids who are not as compliant?
I am torn between sending our child to learn his mother tongue (we don't speak Mandarin at home) and culture, and still unwinding from the strict and prescriptive Chinese schooling system.

I have a rising first grader at Yu Ming. My kiddo isn’t necessarily high energy, but there are definitely other kids who are. My observation is that the assistant teacher (called SGI for small group instructor) is often occupied with managing the kids who aren’t as compliant. There are also different sitting choices in the classroom. In any case, it’s definitely not the “strict Chinese schooling” environment that I grew up in. Hope that helps.
