Wedding Venues, and Caterers
Reasonably priced, LGBQTI friendly wedding venues? One member of the couple is a grad student at Cal; the other a grad student at another university. Looking for both a place for the ceremony, and the party afterwards. They've already checked out the Brazil room. Probably 50-100 guests.

Try Kensington Community Center, just above the Kensington Library and across the street from Arlington Community Church (and above the church parking lot). Beautiful venue! Reasonable fees.
You might try the Presidio Golf & Concordia Club, in the past it was the Presidio Officer’s Social Club & it’s now it’s a social club with an amazing chef & staff, available to rent for occasions like yours.

Good Luck & congratulations!🍾

So exciting! One option is the Kensington Community Center. You can bring in any kind of catering and your own wine/beer/drinks which can save a lot of money. Anohter idea would be the beach house at lake temescal. I know less about the option, but i understand it's really pretty.
Congratulations to the couple
Oakland Feather River Camp!
Berkeley Yacht Club makes a great wedding venue. Check it out.
You could checkout wildwood acres in Lafayette. Outdoor space, in house caterer. My husband jokingly referred to it as a “wedding in a box” but it was great for us. Almost 25 years later I still have fond memories of our day.
Hello!
Not sure how wide you want to cast your geographic area but our friends just got married at the Dance Palace in Point Reyes Station and it was gorgeous for both ceremony and party.
We also just had my son’s bar mitzvah at the Community Center in Crockett - it’s a beautiful Crsftsman building. I highly recommend the space. It was $2400 I think. I found them easy to work with too.
It was a very long time ago now, but I was married at the UC Faculty Club on the Cal campus, as were several friends. (All of us hetero, as it happens, but none of us had traditional Christian weddings...I'd be shocked if the Faculty Club doesn't have LGBTQ+ weddings all the time these days.) It's beautiful, the food is excellent, they were easy to work with, they can set things up in various indoor and outdoor configurations for different size events, they have hotel rooms available for out-of-town guests and/or dressing suite use, and at least at the time, their pricing was what I would call reasonable. Not inexpensive, but great value, and competitive with similar venues in the area.
Unclear what budget you’re looking for, but Newt Hollow in Briones Regional Park was lovely, and very reasonably priced. Very DIY though.
