Schools want tax forms for financial aid?

Hi,

The private high schools we are applying to get financial aid  for our kid asking us to send W2 &  tax forms. Is it OK to send?

Is there any downside to this in case we don't qualify for financial aid?

Thanks!!

It is very common to ask for and send in these forms if you are applying for aid. There really is no other way to evaluate your child's need.

Yes, it is routine to submit these forms as proof of income if you would like to be considered for financial aid. Our school uses a secure service for this, and I assume most others do as well.
