Seeking Weekend Archery Class for Parent + kid
My 7 year old is interested in archery, and while we're signing her up for Tracker's camp in the summer, I also enjoyed archery and wondered if there are any adult/kid lessons or workshops we can drop into on the weekends? We live in South Berkeley/North Oakland. Most posts I've seen on BPN are from 10+ years ago. Thank you!

Their classes fill up fast so it might take you a couple tries to enroll, but East Bay Regional Parks offers archery classes in Roberts Park for ages 8-adult, so you're almost there. More info here: https://www.ebparks.org/recreation/archery. It's been a few years since I've been there, but my kids about that age and I also did drop-in time at Fat Shafts in Benicia together and had a blast. https://www.fatshaftsarchery.com/
My daughter has taken Saturday archery classes through UC Berkeley youth recreation. They offer beginner and intermediate recurve archery lessons. Lessons are not drop-in, rather you sign up for a series but they are not long series - maybe six classes total? It’s a very relaxed vibe and the kids get good instruction. Info is at https://recwell.berkeley.edu/youth-recreation/year-round-programs/youth-archery/.
If your daughter stays interested in archery, she may also want to consider Girl Scouts. Some local girl scouts camp events will have archery on site or troops will arrange to use local ranges, for example my daughter recently went to an archery day at Briones park.
Archery lessons are offered at Roberts: https://www.ebparks.org/recreation/archery
It looks like it's only for ages 8 and up, but the next two sessions are full anyway, so maybe this would be a good birthday present. :)
