Seeking advice re Latitude High School
Our son is currently in the 8th grade and looking for a high school for next year in Berkeley-Oakland area. We heard good things about Latitude HS but are not sure about the academic level there. We understand that it is project-based and that classes are small, which is very good. We would be very happy to hear from parents of former/current students there what do they think of the standard of studies?

My child went to Latitude first semester of 10th grade. We too had heard good things, and even knew people there. However, it was not a good fit for her, and there were a lot of problems at the school -- many fights, multiple set fires along the fence line, poor organization. I also hear that a few teachers have left. We moved and transferred schools in the middle of the school year to go our local public high school. My child had a lot of catching up to do academically. (FYI - at least when we were there, they didn't even offer all the A-G requirements, stating that students could get them completed elsewhere, such as dual-enrollment)
