OSA Waitlist
Has anyone had success on the OSA waitlist? If so, what was your art emphasis and how far down on the list were you?
Trying to decide if it's worth waiting it out.

I'm really frustrated about the wait list. My daughter has been prepping for OSA for years. The fact that the bar was so low on passing the auditions is a shame. Per their charter Oakland students are to receive priority, but Iknow for a fact that a Berkeley student--friend of our family is #4 on waitlist, while we are# 31.
I am wondering the exact same thing. My daughter is #2 on the 7th grade waitlist for theater.
To queenibu, my understanding of how the Oakland preference works is that all kids are graded on a rubric that has 10 categories. Oakland kids are automatically given one extra point in every category. So they get an overall 10 extra points. Then everything is added up and the top 10% of applicant go into the lottery.
All of this is second hand information that I got from another parent, so I'm not sure how true it is. But I thought it was worth sharing.
