Oakland Zoo Summer Camp - Recent reviews?
Hello, I have a first grader who I am planning to send to the Oakland Zoo summer camp. Although, I wanted to look for some recent reviews. The posts that I looked at were from 2017. If you have sent your to their Spring break, Fall Break, Winter Break or Summer break recently, please let me know about your overall experience. Thank you.

Our daughter is in the spring break ZooCamp this week! First time doing it, and she's enjoying it. Though I have no idea what they do all day—when we pick her up from aftercare, kids are brought out of the auditorium individually, so I haven't really seen their aftercare/indoor spaces or talked in depth to any of the staff. But they are all friendly. I believe she's in a cohort of 10 first graders, and there seems to be another group of first graders that they mingle with. There are additional age groups as well.
We live in North Berkeley, so it's a bit more of a trek for pickup/dropoff, so it's helpful that the times for both are flexible.
The camp closes during heavier rain, so that's something to note if you do the spring break option. (It rained a bit Monday and Tuesday this week but camp was on!)
I don't know if we'll do this camp again seeing that there are so many other options closer to us, but overall a good one to consider especially if your child loves animals and exploring outside.
We love Oakland Zoo Camp! My kids have gone the last few summers and some winter and spring breaks too. My kids love the activities, seeing the animals and things they learn. It is a well run camp and the staff is very professional and nurturing. Both of my kids have ADHD and anxiety and the staff does a good job of supporting them when they have behavior challenges because of it.
