Need a High End Restaurant or Hotel for Private Dinner Party 45-50 guests
Hi,
I'm new to SF and was wondering if you can recommend a reputable place with good food/service for a private dinner party for a company event?
Please even email me the obvious places. I don't even know where to begin.

Waterbar!! Their private room should hold that many and it has an incredible view of the Bay.
Hi. Try Paradiso in San Leandro. Not an obvious place for a great restaurant but it is great. They have private rooms, lots of parking. We had an event there and everyone loved it. They were just featured onPBS' Check Please.
Welcome! The Waterbar on the Embarcadero (towards AT&T Park) has an amazing private dining floor, with its own bar, balcony looking out on the Bay Bridge, etc. That is the perfect size for them; I would give them a try. I did a tour there for planning an event, and was blown away. Because I am on a University budget, I just couldn't quite do it, but if you have a good budget for it, you simply cannot go wrong with this choice.
We had a business event at The Chapel (777 Valencia St, San Francisco, CA 94110). It's a cool space and the food was great.
If you don't need to be in San Francisco proper, I just attended a lovely small wedding at the Hotel Acqua in Mill Valley, just over the Golden Gate Bridge and right off the highway. The setting was nice and the food was very good.
We had our rehearsal dinner at Town Hall, and I've been to corporate dinners there as well. They have a private upstairs area. They do a nice job and the food is great. Good luck!

You are certain to find quite a few options and you can filter by number of people, etc.
I've been to a couple events at the Mark Hopkins Hotel that were very nicely done. I don't know whether they used an outside caterer, though.
