Medela Symphony pump rental with Anthem Blue Cross?
Has anyone here had recent experience getting a Medela Symphony breast pump rental covered through Anthem Blue Cross? And if so, which medical supplier company did you go through? So far Anthem has been giving me the runaround, telling me I can do it through medical supply companies that don’t actually carry it :(

You can typically rent one through the hospital where you delivered for free via their lactation department. When I delivered a couple years ago at Alta Bates this was an option, though they were out of pumps the day I was discharged. After frantically exploring options I was able to rent one on short notice through East Bay Lactation Associates in Emeryville. I had did not have Anthem so can’t speak to that specifically. I paid the fee out of pocket and then they provided me with a superbill to submit to my insurance for reimbursement. They made the process so easy, I hope they can help you if the hospital can’t!
