Looking for vet for cherry eye in cat

I believe my cat has cherry eye. And looking online it looks like the solution is surgery. The vet I’ve used for almost 20 years. I’ve become so expensive that I’m very reticent to take my cat in there. Has anyone else had their cat treated for this, and found a reasonably priced vet? I am willing to drive other places in the Bay Area.

Hello,  I have worked in the veterinary field.  Cherry eye in cats is rare, is this a kitten?

It is important to get it properly diagnosed to discuss the next steps.  I would recommend staying with the vet clinic you have used and trust to at least be sure that you are on the right track.  If it is cherry eye, that is a rare condition that will be expensive to repair and you will want someone familiar with treating it, such as a veterinary ophthalmologist.  There is an excellent group at PETS referral in Berkeley.    Good luck!
