locale for sweet 16

Hello,

We're interested in throwing a sweet 16 for my daughter in Berkeley/Oakland. We're hoping for a DJ (so dancing) but are also hoping to somehow not break the bank. I'm wondering whether anyone has any suggested venues?

Some potential venues although not in Berkeley/Oakland (but nearby!):

Phoenix event space in Alameda -- cool event space with a small patio
Kensington Community Center -- nice space for party/dancing and has an outdoor area
El Cerrito Community Center for a bigger group or maybe the Arlington clubhouse for a smaller one (haven't been to the clubhouse)

I got married at the City of Oakland-owned Sequoia Lodge, which was lovely. Another thought is the Veterans Hall in El Cerrito, which I've seen hosting a lot of quinceaneras. Finally, if you can swing the space at all, maybe your house - saves you $$ you can then spend on a DJ & refreshments. Just don't forget to both invite your neighbors, and wrap up by 10!
