How easy is it to get into IB program as a HS Senior

Asking for a friend who is moving to Berkeley -her son has been in an IB program up to now and would like to get into the IB program at BUSD. He will be a senior. Does anyone know how easy it is to get in - BUSD admissions is not returning her calls.

I have a Junior in the AC program at BHS. My guess is it wouldn’t be difficult to get into IB. It isn’t the most impacted program. If he wanted the CAS or AMPS program, that would be difficult. IB? There’s always space.
