Funding for individual elementary kids for extracurriculars

Hi wise parents,

My child has an elementary school classmate/friend in need who I'd like to help find support for.

I cannot provide financial support for this child but I would love to include them in activities with my child by providing administrative and logistical support, which their parents cannot do either of.

Are there resources where I can seek grants or scholarships or other sources of funding to pay for this child to do after school enrichment classes such as soccer, gymnastics, etc., when their family does not have this available?

Just have an open heart to a kid who is not my own and want to offer some support without getting in over my head.

Thanks for any ideas/advice.

Hi! Not sure what school / school district you're at, but I remember that Emerson Elementary in Berkeley had money available for scholarships/grants for their after-school Enrichment classes. If you couldn't afford them, you just clicked the box and they'd get back to you about enrollment. We had 2 or 3 classes paid for this way, it was easy and essentially anonymous with no stigma, etc. Their afterschool enrichment classes were great - stuff like architecture, chorus... can't remember them all. On-campus directly after school.
