Financial consultant for young adult
Hi all -
I'd like to find a financial advisor who could work with my 23 year old, who has his first real job out of college, to help him think about best practices and and good habits in terms of budgeting, saving, investing, etc. Who can consult on an hourly basis for a few hours, with no strings attached or pressure to invest in any products. Essentially what I would do as a parent if I felt confident that I knew how to advise him. :) Any recommendations to someone wonderful who fits the bill?
Thank you so much.

Eileen Loustau at Asti Financial Management works with young people to help set them up for success. Go to www.astifinancial.com and set up a free intro call where she can explain their services. She is a great teacher and you pay her on a hourly basis.
I found Personal Finance Club through BPN and really trust the founder's approach to finances (live below your means, invest the rest in index funds). He has a newer company that matches people with financial advisors and it seems to be exactly what you're asking for: https://hellonectarine.com/. This is their tagline: We don’t manage your money, sell any products, or earn any commissions. Pay for just the advice. From $150-$250/hour, no strings attached. I haven't used it myself, but like I said, Jeremey Schneider (the founder) has his head on straight. also a good instagram follow!
My young adult son studied economics and is working in finance. He is passionate about this book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi. He follows most of its advice.
I know Valerie Sydnor offers financial advising and has worked with some of my family members in the past. Last summer she helped my niece who is 20 start financial planning now that she’s working, going to school and running a business. My niece said she was easy to talk to and helped explained things in a way that her mom (my sister can’t-lol).

I highly recommend Valerie Sydnor. She's super great in breaking down budgeting, savings, and investing. She does consult hourly basis and I love working with her since she's so understanding and not judgmental. She also guides you in a different perspective to look at money. Jimmy Murphy is a wonderful financial coach. I’ve worked with him for years and highly appreciate his financial guidance and kind demeanor. He charges by the hour and is very affordable.
