Current reviews of Centro Vida?

We are very interested in this school, and put our son on the list as soon as I found out that I was pregnant. Wondering if any parents can give us more information about the school, more current reviews since the last one is from 2011. What do you love about it? Anything you don't like? More specific questions: Is it play-based? Or, is it more academic? Do they follow the children's interest to create projects? Do they teach them about conflict resolution, getting along with others? Seems like everyone is nowadays, but want to make sure.

Thank you!

Hi,

Our son attended Centro Vida as a pre-schooler and had a wonderful bi-lingual experience, recently he graduated from Berkeley High (2018) during the graduation ceremony  he publicly thanked Centro Vida and Beatriz-Leyva-Cutler, Director of BAHIA for preparing him to go to CALPoly.

Our kid is a current Corazon (3-4 year old class), and we have been very happy with Centro Vida. The teachers are incredibly loving and patient, and our kiddo has been very happy at school from the beginning. I wish they stuck to Spanish a little more diligently, but our child mixes a lot of Spanish words in with his speech, loves singing songs in Spanish, and his comprehension is excellent - this with minimal exposure before he started school. Definitely play-based, although they get a little more academic for their final year before kindergarten. I think their ability to tailor projects to individual kids’ interests is somewhat limited due to the fairly large cohort sizes, but they do offer a lot of choices during table play times. And yes, they definitely do mix in conflict resolution skills.
