Contractor for Porch Repair/Rebuild

Our home has a stucco front porch which we're aware has some dry rot of the wood underneath. We are considering hiring someone to repair or replace in its entirety, but aren't sure where to start in looking for contractors. Has anyone else tackled this sort of project? Would appreciate any insights or recommendations.

I recently had my front porch and stairs replaced by Barraza Construction, and I highly recommend them. Lenin Barraza, the owner, is a licensed contractor and has extensive experience in construction. (510) 220-3721‬

In 2018-2019 we had design-build contractor Sensible Builders (sensiblebuilders.com) tear down the cracked and crooked dry-rotted, stucco-walled, unroofed front porch of our Albany home and replace it with a lovely covered porch designed to fit the style and exterior details of the house so that it looks like it was original.  We're very happy with it.  Feel free to contact me for more detailed info on our experience.  A porch is too small a project to interest most architects, but it's a project that definitely requires city plan approval and permits so you need someone to prepare detailed plans, which not all contractors can do.  So, it's a great candidate for design-build, and I would recommend that's where you start in looking for contractors. You want someone with plenty of experience working with the permitting department(s) in your city, and with projects for homes similar in style and age to yours.
