Cat sitter recommendations for Rockridge
Hi! I've tried all the obvious avenues of checking Yelp and Next Door but have *yet* to get any responses from any kitty sitting business to care for our little kitty while we're on vacation in Sept. (Geez. I had no idea this would be so hard...).
Does anyone have recommendations for trusted, caring kitty sitters who can pop by our home twice a day for 15 min. or so to feed, play and check in on our little fuzzball while we're out of town (and maybe water plants)?

I use a site called Trusted House Sitters. People on this site stay in your home and care for your pets/plants for free. You get free care for your pet, and people get a free place to stay on vacation. I have never had any problems trusting the people on the site, and you can read reviews from past house sits.

My friend and I (living in the East Bay) both use the Comforted Kitty and I'm pretty sure the service covers Rockridge. Our cats love the sitters!
Try rover.com. I think they provide services to cat owners as well as dog owners. I have used the company once for my dog at I was very pleased with their service.
Recommendation from a friend: Rene Lucero, excellent pet sitter/house sitter. She's been my sitter for many years, very responsible & reliable. Not sure what her current fee is. Daniel and Poppy at the Comforted Kitty have been excellent for us and I highly recommend them. Their website has all the information you’ll need to reach out and see if they have availability. I would guess so long as you’re not looking for Labor Day weekend they’ll be available. For holiday weekends you definitely need to book in advance. Good luck!

What are the dates and are you open to a free house sitter? I am currently in Ashland, OR for a training until June when I hope to get back to Bay Area but I would love to have a good excuse to make a visit :)
We've been using a wonderful woman named Caitlin Costello (email topazcats [at] gmail.com). Two of our neighbors also use her for cat sitting regularly. She's extremely responsive, flexible, loving with the kitties and I particularly love that she will send us updates via text (including sweet pics). When she's come to look after the neighbor's cats in the past, she stays for awhile and makes sure to spend some time with the cat, which made us feel good about using her for cat sitting. Her rate is also very reasonable. Highly recommend!
