Beginning flute help for 9 year old

My 9 year old is in band at school and can't figure out how to make a sound with her flute.  I am looking for someone to meet with her a couple of times to get her going.

My daughter had a flute the school let her borrow that was bent and harder to play than one you could rent that would be in better condition.Hopefully somebody can tell if she has a decent flute

Hi there, My daughter starting learning to play flute at eight years old and we found a wonderful teacher, Caroline Reutter. She lives in Oakland and can offer lessons in person and via zoom/facetime. I would definitely recommend her and if not her, perhaps she could refer to someone to meet your needs for starting out. Feel free to reach out to me for more info or you can contact her directly ~ https://www.hopestreetmusicstudios.com/news/17-teachers/32-caroline-reu…

My ten year old started trombone lessons at Rockin Robbie’s in El Cerrito and it’s going great. I recommend calling them. They support all the band instruments.

Caroline Reutter is an Oakland based flute teacher who also teaches over FaceTime. She is amazing!! So enthusiastic and positive. A skilled musician and teacher. My son started working with her when he was that age. He still takes lessons from her now at 16, and she has kept him challenged and growing at each age. I’m sure she could help your daughter. Her email is carolinereutter [at] gmail.com and her phone is 510-717-5981.
