Any current recommendations on an interior designer?
We'll be moving into a larger space, but bringing a decent amount of furniture with us. Would love a designer who is inclined to work with what we have and then supplement with the right stuff.

I can recommend Victoria Bochat at Victoria Bochat Interiors. www.victoriabochatinteriors.com.
Victoria specializes in using pieces you have and supplementing with newly bought items to create a cohesive and wonderful whole. She is a delight to work with--funny, resourceful and with a great eye. She did a really good job with my house. It was my taste, but brought it to a higher level.
Patty Glikberg of Pannagan Designs 415 517-0091 has been great on the 2 or 3 projects we've done. What I love about her is that she works with what you've got and then helps you decide what's worth spending money on vs just getting from Ikea.
I recommend Rochelle Silberman www.rochellesilbermandesign.com . Rochelle remodeled an old 1938 kitchen, laundry room and powder room and also created a new full bathroom. I hated cooking and spending time in my old kitchen and the powder room entrance was through the kitchen. My kitchen is a dream to cook in and spend time with friends and family. My new bathroom is timeless and lovely. Rochelle had so many practice ideas. She was able to take several rooms and combine them and then create a layout that is functional and beautiful. For example, she planed a pull out drawer that holds compost, garbage and recycling at the end of the island. It is across from the stove and sink. It is a perfect prep location and makes it easy to slide any waste directly into the bins. Rochelle is warm, helpful, and wonderful to work with. I highly recommend her and plan to use her services again in the future for other projects.
I love working with the team at Visual Jill (www.visualjill.com), a Berkeley-based interior design firm. They worked with what I had, gave me choices within my budget and are just a joy to joy to work with.
I really liked working with Victoria Bochat. I first hired her to decorate my office and that went so well that when we bought our first home a couple years later, we asked Victoria to help with that as well. Victoria listened to what we wanted, contributed her own ideas and expertise, was sensitive to our budget, and was accommodating of our schedules. I really appreciated how practical and down to earth she was. I truly believe that not only did both my office and our home look much better thanks to Victoria's suggestions than either would have had we gone it alone, but we actually saved money because she has just spent far more time than we ever could figuring out where to source various things. Our home project sounds a bit similar to yours. We were moving into a substantially bigger space. We had some things already and wanted to work with those. Victoria helped us figure out how to use what we had, and then also steered us toward good additional options. I have to say she's also been very accommodating of the start-and-stop nature of our work on the house. I didn't realize what a big project it would be to furnish a house. We also had a second kid not too long after moving. Victoria knew just when to email to nudge us along so that we kept making progress, but was never pushy about it.
I hope this helps. Good luck finding someone who is a good fit.
