19 year old looking for an ADHD coach as she heads to college
We're searching for someone to support an older teen who has not had any coaching or professional support for managing her ADHD, and who (mirculously!) self-identified that she needs and wants to develop more effective skills (including but not limited to study skills) to manage her ADHD now that she's on her way to college in the fall. I think she would ideally respond to someone who works with adults/older teens rather than primarily little kids, and we're looking for someone who offers support remotely (by video conference) since she will be going to college out of state. If you've worked with someone who provides this service, would you be willing to share more about your experience, including what worked well, what didn't, and whether you would recommend the person your child worked with? Thank you!

Try the Schwab Learning Center at Children’s Health Council.
Our ADHD daughter, now 38, has had a really good experience with Sindy Wilkinson and the HANDLE program of exercises. We have been working with Sindy for about five years and it has all been positive and growth-enhancing. Her office is in Lafayette but our meetings since Covid have been on-line. Adderall helped for a while but caused its own problems for her so it was a huge relief to find a drug-free way of improving her situation.

It’s so great that she’s asking for this. I wish I had!
I recommend reaching out to Sarah Ward of Cognitive Connections. She’s does a variety of ADHD/executive functioning training. I took a parent workshop about a year ago and it was incredibly helpful. Sarah is based on the east coast, I think, but offers workshops via Zoom.

Wishing her luck!
Highly recommend Classroom Matters run by Tatiana Guerrero in Berkeley. She and her staff are very knowledgeable about ADHD and they can work with your college student over zoom. Tatiana and her crew provide support to my college student with ADHD through executive functioning coaching and subject specific tutoring.
I highly recommend Emily Haan! She has a virtual coaching practice and the ideal age group of clients is late teen/early adult. She's also the parent of a child with ADHD and has a ton of knowledge and compassion around the subject. Her website is https://www.emilyhaan.com/.
Hi there! Emily Haan is an ADHD coach for teens/adults and offers remote options.
Paul the Tutor's does combo tutoring-coaching sessions with students. We have had a lot of success with these since they work on school work while developing the management skills.
