Join Living Jazz on May 17, 2025 at our 1528 Webster offices for a special screening of Strike a Pose.

Living Jazz is proud to present A Celebration of Dance and Legacy, an event honoring the life and work of dancer Gabriel Trupin, through the screening of Strike a Pose, a documentary showcasing the lives, 25 years later, of the dancers that toured with Madonna and were featured in her iconic film Truth or Dare.

This event also features a rare appearance of legendary choreographer Vincent Paterson who worked with Madonna and Michael Jackson, along with pre-recorded messages from the Directors of Strike a Pose, Ester Gould and Reijer Zwaan who reside in Amsterdam, Belgium.

This event not only will honor Gabriel’s legacy as a gifted dancer and former Jazz Camper, but will also highlight the Gabriel Trupin Memorial Dance Scholarship, providing young dancers with the opportunity to attend Jazz Camp West.

Come celebrate Gabriel’s impact and the power of dance to inspire and uplift. Space is limited—RSVP here!

ABOUT THE FILM – STRIKE A POSE

In 1990, seven young male dancers - 6 gay, 1 straight - joined Madonna on her most controversial tour. On stage and in the iconic film Truth or Dare, they showed the world how to express yourself. A profoundly significant contribution of this film was the release of the first queer kiss, a revolutionary representation in film up to that point. Now, 25 years later, they reveal the truth about life during and after the tour. Strike a Pose is a dramatic tale about overcoming shame and finding the courage to be who you are.
