Sit and Spin 4023 18th Street, in the Castro. My entire family (three households) use their wash and fold (even my sister, who has a washer and dryer in her building!), and we have for over a decade. Jeti, the woman who usually does the job, is a lovely person.
Family Laundry offers a laundry pick-up/delivery. Rates are $55 for a 25 lb bag (about 5 loads for my family of 3) + delivery fee or $200/month subscription (no delivery fee) for weekly pickup for 25 lbs. They've expanded to include SF so enter your address in their app to confirm (their website is a web version of their phone app). I have a referral code you can use for $10 off your first order.
I've been using the service since 2020 and it's saved me about 5-6 hours of washing, drying, and folding. Not to be dramatic, but it's changed my life for the better. If you take your annual salary and divide by 2080 (assuming you have 2 weeks vacation), that's your hourly salary. And sometimes certain items taken longer to dry and that's more of my time gone. So unless it only takes you an hour to do laundry, $55 is worth it compared to 5-6 hours of your own time if you paid yourself.
They use their best guest to group your laundry into bundles (ie, bundle for towels vs husband vs wife vs kiddo). I schedule a weekly 8-10 am pick-up and they drop off same-day 6-8 pm. You also earn rewards or points. So if your weekly load cost $55, you get 55 points. 1,000 points = $20 off, etc. Have they lost stuff? They did lose a sock/pillowcase here and there during the pandemic years, but let's face it, not a great time for anyone. In the past year, I only got 1 sock that didn't belong.
My nitpicks--they don't treat stains ($3/per item to stain treat) and their free laundry bag (recently "upgraded") is flimsy and they've replaced it (for free) at least 3 times.
