Summer Reading Support for K-2 Students

Hi BPN community,

I’m offering summer tutoring for K-2 students in need of reading support! I have a background in education, including experience as a classroom teacher, and earned my CA multiple-subject teaching credential in 2022. Currently, I’m in graduate school studying school psychology, with a special interest in early literacy.

For reading support, I plan to use the University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) curriculum, which is evidence-based and follows the science of reading approach. In addition to my graduate coursework, I have been independently researching and learning about this curriculum, along with resources from the Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR), to deepen my understanding of structured literacy. This summer, I’m hoping to work with a few students to apply what I’ve learned and gain more hands-on experience with this approach.
