Summer K-8 Tutoring for All Subjects with a Credentialed Elementary School Teacher
Hi there! My name is Natalie Abber (she/her) and I am an elementary school teacher in Oakland. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley in 2018 and earned a Master's in Education from Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, I taught ESL in Taiwan as a Fulbright Scholar from 2018-2019. I am a lead teacher at my school site in East Oakland and am the director of our free after school art program.
In my practice, I engage learners through a student-centered, hands-on, creative, and culturally responsive approach. I believe that learning should always be fun, meaningful, and assets-based; I love to forge innovative pathways to support all scholars in their educational journey. You can learn a bit more about my experience and practice on my professional website here.
I provide instruction for early elementary literacy, reading, and math intervention as well as upper elementary literacy and math tutoring. Additionally, I can assist high school students with any writing assignments (college essays included), SAT prep, and AP Exam prep.
This summer, I am happy to offer in-person instruction or virtual tutoring via Zoom, and am available Monday - Friday from 9am - 6pm. I can work on weekends with some advance notice. References can be made available upon request.
I sincerely look forward to hearing from you soon!
