Prepare for 2022 exams, applications, and math tests with a compassionate, expert tutor

My students and their parents often describe me as “not just a tutor, but a life coach.” My approach is holistic, caring, patient, and effective. With a growth mindset honed by over a decade of rock climbing, I meet my students where they are and guide them toward their academic goals.

I support students through the entire college and high school admissions process, from choosing whether or not take standardized tests, and if so, which ones to take, to test preparation for the SAT/ACT, ISEE/SSAT, & HSPT, to school selection, application timeline management, and essay writing. When preparing for tests, we address content, strategy, focus, stamina, performance, presence, and confidence. As a professional essayist and editor, I bring a writer's eye to the personal essay. I also provide weekly academic support in all subjects, as well as help with organization, study skills, and any kind of writing. Mindfulness and anxiety management are also part of my teaching practice.

Since I graduated with honors from Brown University in 2001, I have tutored hundreds of students in grades K-12, with a focus on the middle and high school students with whom I have a special ability to connect.
