Personalized Tutoring from Experience, Credentialed Teacher

I help young people (ages 8 and up) to articulate their ideas and get them down on the page in a clear, well-organized and often even beautiful form. As a teacher, tutor, and writing coach, I provide students with the feedback they need to improve their writing fluency and composition skills.

My lessons help students to recognize and use their own strengths to develop their academic skills. When it comes to homework support, I guide student toward the skills they need to understand and meet or exceed expectations. I can also develop an independent academic enrichment program that will strengthen that student's preparation for college.

In person meetings are possible in Berkeley, Albany, and nearby communities. I can meet online with students in other locations.

As a credentialed teacher with a master's degree in Education from UC Berkeley, I have 25 years' experience teaching and tutoring, including courses in writing, art history, and public speaking at the UC Berkeley Academic Talent Development program. I also have extensive experience as a professional writer and editor.
