Online College-Prep Tutor - English, Math, SAT/ACT/AP

Hello! My name is Mike Stoumbos. I am a high-school teacher and tutor, specializing in college-readiness education. 

With experience teaching both Math and English, I meet students where they’re at in the core subjects and help them to build the skills for long-term academic growth. As a college-readiness tutor, I work with students and parents to tackle the SAT/ACT/AP tests and college essays.

Even with school schedules changing and learning opportunities shifting, my aim is to help students fill in gaps and become stronger learners. If you think I’d be a fit for your student, please contact me to discuss your tutoring goals.

• Distance Learning: I am working online during the ’20-21 school year. 
• Flexible Rates: I use a sliding scale and also offered group rates.
• Tutoring Experience: 7 yrs tutoring ACT/SAT/AP, college essay writing, ELL, and study skills.
• Teaching Experience: 6 yrs teaching high school, 3 Math (Algebra, Geometry, AP Calculus AB) and 3 years Humanities (8th-12th grade ELA, ELL, Drama, Creative Writing). During Quarantine, Online Teaching creative writing and math skills, mainly serving students ages 9-14.
• Other Qualifications: Certificate to Teach 6-12 grade Math, English Language Arts, and Drama; Masters in Teaching at UW; I-TEFL Cert; SAT/ACT prep training; Professional writing/editing/publishing experience.
