Guitar Teacher with 10+ Years of Experience
With 10+ years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am happy to offer both virtual and socially distanced in-home lessons for guitar, ukulele, and bass to the East Bay Area.
“Jake is talented and professional, with a strong knowledge of and passion for his field. He is also very accommodating and a genuinely nice person. Over all, he is a wonderful teacher.”

Structured units are designed to get beginners playing fun songs early, while learning the fundamentals of music. For intermediate and advanced players I offer deeper dives on style, technique, and theory.
I have been lucky to work with a few fantastic music schools including Rhodes School of Music where I have seen an average of over twenty students per week, the Young Musicians Foundation where I taught guitar classes to underserved youth in Los Angeles, and the California Institute of the Arts where I tutored music theory students at the college level.
Through the years I have studied privately with world renowned guitarists including Larry Koonse, Miroslav Tadic, John Moulder, Adam Del Monte, Steve Trovato, and Pat Kelley. I have completed over thirty credits towards my MFA in Composition at California Institute of the Arts.
