Experienced Violin & Viola Teacher (and Digital Production) - N. Berkeley & Oakland
After performing and recording in Europe, I have returned to the Bay Area and am accepting new violin students in N. Berkeley and Oakland. I am a former member (10 years) of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra and have played professionally for 40 years. My specialities include performance in classical, Middle Eastern, improvisation, and electronic music. I have an MFA in music from Mills College, an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts at SF State, and am credentialed Music for the State of California.
My teaching experience comprises 25+ years and I have taught in public and private schools, and at U.C. Santa Cruz. Though rooted in traditional technique my approach to teaching as well as making music is creative; emphasizing technique and playing in a relaxed way. I am patient and skilled at working with each student’s learning style - I teach all ages and skill levels.
