Cello Lessons
Greetings!
My name is Scott Thompson, and I hold a Masters in Music from the SF Conservatory of Music. I teach the cello in a way that makes learning as easy as possible so that students who study with me will gain the tools to make beautiful music freely and easily. All levels and ages of students are welcome.
After years of studying at the SF Conservatory of Music and with world-renowned cello teachers—including Jennifer Culp, Ron Leonard, and Irene Sharp—I learned not only how to play my instrument, but also how to teach the gift of music.
As a professional educator, I have spent the last fifteen years teaching K-8 PE and coaching both youth and adult swimming in the East Bay. The skills I have helped students cultivate in their athletic pursuits translate to learning the Cello—both endeavors require integrity and also the development of specific movements with the body. As a teacher who has experience across disciplines, I have developed an instinctive teaching style that enables me to help each student specifically.
Lessons are located at The Academy School in Elmwood.

Sincerely,
Scott Thompson
