    My incoming TK'er got into Franklin Elementary in Oakland, a school that was not on our radar. I'm looking for any feedback about the school (how are the teachers, the community, is the neighborhood safe, how is the aftercare program and do most students get in).

    I was considering this school last year after my dad gave it a rave review as a substitute (he’s a retired experienced teacher). We ended up just up the road at our neighborhood school, Bella Vista. We’ve ended up being very happy at the school and it has free aftercare that was easy to get into. All that to say, I bet Franklin will be great and you may get into other places you’re currently waitlisted at. And if you live near Bella Vista, give it a try!
