Petites Merveilles
Community SubscriberBerkeley, CA
Petites Merveilles is a French immersion Montessori at-home preschool situated in Central Berkeley. We welcome children 2-5 years old, and offer enrollment for 2, 3 or 5 days per week between 8:30 and 3:30 with the possibility for extended care. Our indoor space is full of sunlight, furnished with natural materials and set up with engaging age-appropriate activities. Our outdoor space is a large enclosed garden with fruit trees, raised beds and a chicken coop. Tuition includes organic lunches and snacks.
I don't know if our 3yo son will ever be so fortunate again in his life to attend such a wonderful school. The space itself is gorgeous - indoors a sun-drenched room with Montessori games and puzzles that keep my son occupied all day long, and a large outdoor space with fruit and fresh eggs the kids can pick, with a sand pit to play in. Words don't do it justice. But it's the learning environment that Eliza has created that makes Petite Merveilles so special - our son has grown and learnt so much in the last 6 months. I can see how the staff have encouraged his interests over time and continue to develop his curiosity in art, reading and beyond. The field trips and camping trips are a real treat too. I feel beyond fortunate that our family gets to be part of the PM community.
We couldn’t be happier with this school. The location is fantastic, the teachers are incredible, the kids eat amazing food, the backyard is huge and is filled with enlightening activities. The director, Eliza, is warm and kind and creates a calm space where the children are given ample opportunity to develop their curiosity. The smaller class size enables the kids to grow at their own pace while bonding together and it has been incredible to watch our daughter thrive in this environment. Our daughter went from being non-verbal to speaking multiple languages, fully potty-trained. Our daughter can perform many skills independently and has developed excellent gross and fine motor skills. There is a real sense of community and we feel like we’re part of a big family. Our 3yo loves it there and we feel incredibly lucky to have found this gem!
