Our lo started with Mimi (as the little ones call her), at 6 months old. Currently, at 19 months, our lo is thriving stringing three words together with an ever growing vocabulary.
With activities ranging based on weather permitting and readiness based on the child: Sandbox, gardening, drawing, yoga, tunnel exploring, block stacking, reading time, etc
Morning routine: check-ins at drop off, the pop up and down, waving goodbye from the window is a sweet way to start the morning as a parent heading into the work day and the child feeling confident and safe.
Meals are provided and they are healthy assortment, ranging from veggitable melody. yogurt, fruit, pasta, etc.
Melissa is excellent with commutation. She will text videos or photos occasionally to let us know what are lo is up too. And will help us troubleshoot things with sleep, food recommendations, etc. With 20 years of experience this has been beneficial for us.
Sweet Potatoes is in a good location of the Richmond Annex, situated in proximity to San Pablo Ave and accessible to the 80.
Our family wholeheartedly recommends Sweet Potatoes Daycare!
Melissa (“Mimi”) Fuller has been a treasure for our family. Melissa has over 20 years of experience with children. Her in-home daycare is clean and bright. Every morning, before we arrive, she has thoughtfully selected fun books and toys for the kids to discover. She prepares incredible, healthy snacks and lunches, including seasonal fresh fruit from the farmer’s market and green smoothies. The kids spend time outdoors in her amazing backyard almost every day. In the yard they get lots of activity, including opportunities to garden. My son especially loves the toy lawn mower and sand box.
We started attending Sweet Potatoes when my son was 7 months old. He is now almost two and has grown so much! From learning to put away toys to waiting for his turn, I know that Melissa’s gentle, compassionate care has made a huge difference. It feels good, too, that my son looks forward to going to “Mimi’s house.” Melissa has also helped me be a better parent, always on my side and offering nuggets of wisdom as we enter new phases.
Sweet Potatoes currently has a few openings. It is conveniently located in the Richmond Annex, not far from El Cerrito’s City Hall / DMV. Melissa can be reached at 510-375-9885.
Our daughter’s daycare in the Richmond Annex has an opening for Fall 2018. Our daughter has been at Melissa Fuller’s daycare for the past year and half (since she was five months old) and we are very happy to have found her! Melissa’s house is our daughter’s home away from home. As first time parents, we didn’t know what to expect leaving our child while we went to work and it ended up being a wonderful, smooth transition. Melissa has a great house with an awesome yard. She makes all the meals and snacks and the children (and parents too) love her!

We want to recommend our in-home daycare in the Richmond Annex, run by Melissa Fuller. Her daycare is licensed, small (3-4 kids for the past year) and extremely affordable. Melissa is wonderful about keeping the kids to a schedule involving healthy meals (which she provides), outdoor and indoor play, and naps. Our daughter has been with her from 16 months to 2+ years, but Melissa handles a wide range of ages.

Looking for an affordable, OUTSTANDING, small childcare where your infant or toddler will receive lots of love and personal attention? I must have interviewed 20 different providers to find a personal, home-like childcare situation until I finally met Melissa Fuller. I was totally impressed by her and immediately trusted and respected her. Since then, she has taken wonderful care of our son and daughter at her home. They love going to her house and have no problem saying goodbye as I run off to work. Melissa always seems to be so positive, gentle, and understanding with the children no matter how challenging their behavior gets. As a former preschool teacher, she nurtures their development with books, art, and play in a TV-free environment. She has great clean indoor and outdoor play spaces and provides healthy food for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Our kids are going to preschool in the fall, so Melissa has openings for September. She takes only a handful of kids and will definitely fill up fast. So call her now if you are in search of a great childcare provider.

Our daughter has been at our daycare since the age of 5 months and is only leaving because it's time for preschool. Melissa Fuller is amazing, has her masters in childcare development and is basically our child's second mommy. She makes healthy food for the kids, has a great house and yard and the kids never want to leave. Melissa's number is 510-932-3545 and please contact me if you have any other questions. You will never feel like you are just leaving your child at a babysitter's, Melissa sings, dances and provides age appropriate activities. shawna
