Our son has been with Almaz for almost two years and will be moving on to a larger preschool. This is extremely bittersweet as we are very sad to be leaving Almaz’s daycare. Our son has loved his time with Almaz. Of all the daycares we toured, our son connected most strongly with Almaz, who immediately took him in her arms and made him laugh. Almaz is extremely caring, loving, and generous. She helped get our son on a sleep and feeding schedule, and is very experienced caring for babies and toddlers. Her home is well set up for a daycare, and the backyard has a nice play structure and vegetable garden. We’ve appreciated how flexible Almaz is with her working hours. We constantly say, “We’re so lucky to have found Almaz,” and hope future families say the same.

Almaz has watched our 18 month old son since he was less than a year. She is a toddler whisperer :) She engages my son with a combination of playfulness and calm - and balances both keeping a close eye on him, while giving him space to safely explore his surroundings. Her place is thoughtfully set up for children (with dedicated rooms for the children to play, sleep, eat) and a sunny backyard (with garden beds where she grows vegetables, and fenced in.) She has 30 years of experience caring for children (both as a nanny & running her childcare.) I appreciate how she has been very receptive to requests I have had (about sleep schedules, eating) and also really understands kids. She is currently only watching 2 children at a time (to minimize COVID risks) - and will have 2 FT openings (for infants - 6 yrs of age) starting in late June. Her next families will be very lucky to have found her.

Almaz has been so wonderful.  She watched our daughter during the height of the pandemic and kept her safe and happy for over a year.  Our daughter adores her and we do as well.  I echo what everyone else has said about her - she is a young vibrant grandmother who knows exactly how to care for infants and toddlers.  She is a wonderful cook, a generous soul, and has a lovely safe home environment.  Her home is meticulously clean, completely safe, her backyard has raised garden beds and a great play structure and she just knows how to understand young children.

Since the pandemic began, she has been only watching two children at a time.  She currently has an opening for one, and I'd be more than happy to answer anyones questions.

Almaz was amazing with our son for the early years of his life. Her daycare is very loving, reliable, clean, and fun. It has a family atmosphere and all the kids absolutely love “Mama Almaz.” She is flexible, reasonable, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She will take great care of your infant or toddler. Feel free to reach out to me with any specific questions. Almaz is still a great friend of our family.

Our nanny is opening an in-home daycare. She worked for us for three years, starting with my first child at 3 months, and with my second that is 19 months younger.

Almaz has a single-level house with a big beautiful backyard. The yard has grass, raised beds with veggies, fruit trees, toys, and a play structure with foam padding. The house is well organized with full size cribs and is very clean. She is also a wonderful cook.

Almaz is a young, energetic, and healthy grandmother, who raised two daughters of her own and has three young grandchildren.

I was working from home while she was with us and so I was able to be a daily witness to how she takes care of the children. She has an easy way with babies and toddlers, getting them to eat and sleep well and on schedule. She plays with them and engages in educational play: motor skills, singing and counting. As someone with decades of experience taking care of children, she is calm and comforting through all the uncomfortable, worrisome or difficult stages of babyhood.

She speaks English, Italian, some Arabic, and her native Eritrean language, all of which she will be able to speak and sing to your little one(s) in.

Please feel free to call or email me if you have other questions. Almaz can be reached at 510-269-0762.
