we are looking into western washington state univ in bellingham for our son and wondering if anyone is familiar with or had experience with the school. Its sounds as though it offers an interesting approach with lots of different opportunities and wondering about the reality of that. Lisa

My daughter is a junior at WWU. She absolutely LOVES it. She is in Fairhaven, which is the school of interdisciplinary studies, and requires a separate essay for entrance. She doesn't mind the weather. She likes that it's a big school for social reasons, but she's in a small school (Fairhaven) where she has some classes with 15 students and a professor (not a grad student), and the professors know her name.
