About Me:

I have a BA from Princeton University and a Masters in Physics from UC Berkeley. My eight years of teaching experience include working as a Graduate Student Instructor in Physics at UCB, as well as tutoring college and high school students in physics and math.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe that all students have the capacity to learn math and physics, and that we must meet them wherever they are in their learning process. I work together with my students to build their confidence and curiosity.

Former Student Testimony:

  • Super smart, helpful, excellent communicator and such a quirky sense of humor which makes learning the material fun
  • Knowledgeable, patient, reasonable expectations, approachable and kind
  • Genuinely loves teaching and is extremely good at it too

I highly recommend Morgan Presley as a math tutor. She works with my daughter to help with her Advanced Math class at BHS when her teacher was not doing a good job of explaining the material. My daughter has loved working with Morgan, who is patient, kind, excellent at explaining complex math topics, and engaging. After working with Morgan for one session, my daughter understood math concepts that she hadn’t been able to fully grasp from the class alone. Morgan has a real talent for working with teenagers and her love of math is infectious.

Hire Morgan immediately if you have the chance! She is an amazing math tutor and we highly recommend her. She's been working with our 15 year old to help with the very challenging Integrated Math 3 Honors class he is taking at Bentley. Before our son started working with Morgan, he was convinced he needed to drop the class. He was not understanding the material and getting terrible scores on his assessments. But within just a few short weeks of working with Morgan, our son started thriving in the class. He's back to feeling confident in math, enjoying the subject matter, and feeling like he can actually succeed in the class. When I asked what he likes so much about working with Morgan, he said "she's really focused on helping me actually understand the material and the 'why' behind the concepts. She's enthusiastic, energetic and really encourages me to dig in. She clearly loves math and she's helping me regain my love for it too." We can't say enough great things about our experience with Morgan!

Morgan Presley is a one in a million Physics tutor and mentor -- brilliant, engaging, affable, patient, and deeply gifted at distilling the most complex, challenging concepts in Physics into bite size ideas that even a kid such as ours (who is not a "natural" in math/science) finds digestible.  Morgan's passion for Physics and for teaching shine through consistently in her tutorials.  Our daughter -- who had previously found this subject matter to be intimidating and hard to follow -- walked out of her first few tutorials with Morgan beaming, and exclaiming: "She makes Physics so cool, I would seriously think about studying it in college as a second major or minor."  Whether your kid (like ours) could benefit from help keeping pace, or is a luminous mind looking to push deeper and ahead in the discipline, or anything in between, do your kid (and yourself) a favor and hire Morgan if she's available.  She is the only Physics tutor your kid will ever need.

This is a review of Morgan Presley as a physics tutor. Morgan seems to have a photographic memory, so there's no problem in high school physics that she hasn't seen before. She'll remember which textbook in which she saw that kind of problem first. With that recall comes the memory of what it was like to puzzle through a problem like that for the first time. This connects her to the student. She never loses patience and instead mobilizes different ways of tackling the problem until something works. Along the way, Morgan can give the student the most delightful excursions into nuclear energy or black holes or some other aspect of physics. Our kid says the former student testimony is spot on. Could not recommend Morgan more highly. A delightful person and a committed teacher.
