RE: Pediatrician in San Leandro

I missed the original post, but I wanted to recommend Castro Valley Pediatrics (they are actually in Hayward, just a stone's throw from San Leandro on 580). We saw Dr. Hiramatsu for years, but all the doctors there are good. anon

We recently moved to Castro Valley and would like current recommendations for pediatricians for our two boys (ages 2 and 5). Our general criteria in order: very well-trained physicians (UCSF grads?), phone consultations/phone-in Rx to local pharmacy, weekend hours, Healthnet HMO insurance. We may want a male pediatrician as a last criteria, but can be flexible. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. Emily

Castro Valley Pediatrics has 3 doctors (Ross, Hiramatsu and Turman) who graduated from UCSF. Dr. Ross is a man. They had to move their offices to Hayward (on Foothill Blvd.) near CV Blvd. when Eden built their new hospital. I highly recommend them. Happy parent

RE: MediCal Pediatrician for foster child in Hayward

Highly recommend Castro Valley Pediatrics. Despite the name, they are located in Hayward at Plaza Center. 510-581-1446. They see lots of foster kids, all their doctors trained at Children's Hospital Oakland, and they are knowledgeable and caring. Happy parent

My husband and I highly recommend Dr. W. Ross from Castro Valley Pediatrics. He is very knowledgeable and caring for the children. He is the best. He is a great human being , my husband loves him like a brother. We couldn't ask for anything else. We also like this group of doctors because if one is sick or out there is always other Doctor to help you out. The whole practice is wonderful. If you do go, please tell him that the Yoos family recommended him. Please note that I don't know about what insurance he takes but it does not hurt to try.
