Re: OB GYN in San Fran?
I saw Cynthia Farner for years (before moving to the east bay and switching). The office staff is not the best in the world, but I just love her - kind, personable and no BS. She was very caring and generous with me when I had an abnormal pap once - took a lot of time to talk with me and reassure me. And if you are thinking of having a baby, her OB call group is quite small - you'd stand a decent chance of having her actually deliver your baby (or at least you would have met everyone in the call group prior to delivering). anon

I would like to put in a good word for San Francisco OB/GYN Associates. If you're looking for an OB or GYN in the city, or are willing to drive there for care, this is a fantastic group, with a midwife who has admitting/delivery privileges at California Pacific Medical Center, which is right across the street. It's a smaller birthing center than Alta Bates, and very friendly and cozy (and most or all rooms are private). All the M.D.'s in the group are excellent, and the (male!) midwife is second to none. He followed me through both of my pregnancies, and delivered both of my daughters. The office staff is friendly, courteous, and not rushed. I am seen on time or within 5 minutes of my appointment, every time. I moved to Berkeley a month before my first daughter (almost 4) was born, but still make the trek to the city for all my OB/GYN care. Their number is (415) 668-1010. Heidi
