Does anyone have a recommendation for a great dentist in the Ameritas network? I’m a very anxious patient when it comes to the dentist and my current dentist isn’t reassuring at all. Thanks in advance!

I currently have Ameritas and I see Dr. Amini at CitiDent in downtown SF. I originally chose him because he also teaches at UCSF dental school and his office is close to my work. I have since found out that he is really passionate about his work and keeps up-to-date with all the latest technology and methods. I have stayed with him because I like that he treats the root of the problem instead of just treating the symptoms. But he isn't pushy and will listen to your concerns. I'm an engineer and he takes the time to explain how things work, which I find really interesting. He has also accepted every insurance I've had in the 10 years I've seen him. And that's been like 7 different insurance carriers because my company switches so often. I've stayed with him during the pandemic in the thought I will go back to the office some day. I think if you're upfront with him about your anxiety, he will totally make you feel at ease.
Also I'm not sure what level of anxiety you have, but I should preface this by saying I don't have any personal anxiety related to seeing dentists. I have pretty good dental health. I had 5 cavities when I first came to Dr. Amini because I didn't go to the dentist for about 3 years before that. But I haven't had one since! He did my invisalign about 8 years ago to correct the fact I didn't wear my retainers as a teen. Now I just go for regular cleanings. I brush 2x day, floss every day, and I wear my retainers every night.
