Experience with EBMUD Landscape Design Assistance Program

We applied for the EBMUD rebate program to replace our lawn, but did not qualify because we let our lawn die in the summer (because of course we do!) We can participate in the Landscape Design Assistance Program. Has anyone had a good experience with this rebate program? Any designers you would recommend from the approved list? Since it is limited to a 2-hour design session, I am imagining you do not receive a design specific to your yard but rather something more general. Thank you for any insight you have into the program!
