Legal Access Alameda, formerly Volunteer Legal Services Corporation, is the pro bono arm of the Alameda County Bar Association. For more than 40 years we have provided free, direct legal assistance to low-income residents in Alameda County. We provide help for family law, landlord law, and Chapter 7 bankruptcy issues, and we offer a monthly drop-in clinic that covers a range of legal practice areas. This year, we are offering help for immigrant families with preparing childcare plans in the event of separation from their children. We can:

  • Provide one-on-one consultations with experienced immigration law volunteer attorneys
  • Help draft childcare plans
  • Make Know Your Rights Presentations
  • Connect residents with trusted immigration law resources

We do not offer full scope representation of clients with immigration issues or removal defense, but we are the hub of legal information, and we provide limited scope help with general immigration questions through our monthly drop-in clinic as well as limited scope help with childcare preparedness plans. We are open to what the community might need.
