Planning a mid school year move from Berkeley to Sonoma county

I am looking at rentals in Petaluma and Santa Rosa. My ideal location would be Sebastopol but the rental market lacks what I’m looking for (2 bedrooms, hardwood floors, bathtub, yard/garden space, dog friendly). I have a 5 year old who is attending step one in Berkeley. She loves the school so much I decided to opt for another year instead of tk. 

I’m looking for recommendations for preschools or tk/elementary options in Petaluma and Santa Rosa (and Sebastopol?). My 5 year old is bright and creative and I’m looking for a public charter or independent school that follows a progressive/holistic philosophy. Limited screen use, scientific reading methods, engaged teachers… not particular fond of Waldorf but I’m open to it.

Are district transfers an option from Santa Rosa to Sebastopol?
