Owner renovation permit for kitchen?

Hello! 

I am doing an owner renovation of my kitchen (new cabinets and floors, moving the fridge and moving a window). We are doing our own work as my father is a contractor.  I hired a kitchen designer and she was supposed to pull the permit, but she just told me she was unable to. 

I now have to do this myself and have never done it before! Has anyone pulled a renovation permit with the city of Berkeley before? If so, any advice? What do I need to bring? I plan on bringing-

• plans for kitchen (designer did these)
• Drawing of property lines from when we bought the house 

• A bill just in case for proof of ownership 

  anything I’m missing? Any general tips? Thanks so much!
