Stanford Autism Research: SPARK Study
Dear Parents,
The entire autism community is invited by Stanford University to register with SPARK, a large, online research partnership that seeks to improve the lives of people with autism through research. SPARK researchers are depending on tens of thousands of families and individuals with autism to join this community and provide the data that will help power research aimed at isolating specific genes and/or causes of autism. By building a community of tens of thousands of individuals with autism and their biological family members who provide behavioral and genetic data, SPARK will be the largest autism research study to date.
By joining SPARK, you will be making invaluable contributions to advancing the understanding of autism.
To register for SPARK:
- Go to www.SPARKforAutism.org/Stanford
- If you have already received an email invitation, be sure to register using the email address that this invitation email was sent to
Registration takes about 20-30 minutes, and we’d love to have you onboard. As part of your participation in SPARK, we ask that you register and complete a few questionnaires online and provide a saliva sample using a saliva collection kit that will be shipped directly to your home. You will receive a gift card, valued at up to $50, once you have completed registration and mailed back the saliva samples. Find out more about what’s involved on our SPARK FAQ page, or if you have any questions, please contact us at sparkstudy [at] stanford.edu (sparkstudy[at]stanford[dot]edu) or 650-736-1235.
If you would like to stay up to date on Stanford Autism research and community events, such as future webinars, you can join our research registry: https://med.stanford.edu/autism/registry.html.
Together, we can improve lives by helping to accelerate research. SPARK sincerely appreciates your time, effort and participation in this landmark research initiative, and we look forward to learning more together!
